This is an American rock band that has been in the industry rocking fans for a little over three decades now. The band was formed back in 1977 and they have been able to release throbbing tunes that have seen them flock a huge number of fans as they also got to stage numerous sold out concerts. The band is commonly regarded as the progenitors of the horror punk subgenre kind of music. This branding came up because of the way they constantly had repeat performances whereby they got to display these performances. They blended punk rock with other musical influences as they also managed to incorporate horror film themes and images. The band was formed back in Lodi, New Jersey.

The founding member was singer and song writer Glenn Danzig. Glenn and Jerry Only who was a bassist for the band were the only consistent band members. The band released a number of singles and EP’s and they were able to do this by recruiting the services of Doyle, who was Jerry Only’s brother and he came in as the band’s guitarist. Their 1982 album titled Walk Among Us and the 1983 album release titled Earth A.D/ Wolfs Blood were both considered to be touchstones of the hardcore punk movement of the 1980’s.

Their music was widely renowned during that decade and they were even able to influence a number of punk rock, alternative rock and heavy metal bands. The band has had some of its members leaving and they replaced them with new members and this saw them become reincarnated whereby they came back with a sound that was much more rooted in heavy metal. The reincarnated Misfits band later came to release the albums titled American Psycho and Famous Monsters back in 1997 and 1999 respectively.
