A renowned American singer, song writer and multi instrumentalist, Thomas Earl Petty, otherwise known as Tom Petty has really had a high flying career. He has managed to keep the entire rock fan base on their feet with his marvels and amazing talent. His career has had the usual ups and downs but that has not been a set back for him. He managed to be the front man of the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers band which really did well during its tenure.

Being the lead of the band, he was responsible for spearheading it to greater height and he clearly did a great job considering how much success the band achieved. Tom clearly has a touch for forming music groups as he was also instrumental in spearheading the formation of the Traveling Wilbury’s and Mudcrutch all of which were super groups of the eighties. He has also been on stage performing under the pseudonyms of Muddy Wilbury and Charlie T. Wilbury.

During the prime of his career, he has managed to record a number of hit singles which he did as a solo artist. Many of his releases are still being played on adult contemporary and even a number of classic radio stations. He still hosts numerous shows and concerts all of which are usually sold out. His music has been quite dynamic as he has been able to have most of his singles being popular among members of the younger generations. Needless to say, his career has been quite successful as he has sold over sixty million albums including the ones he has done with his many collaborators. The bands he was able to work with have seen their fair share of success but he still preferred to have a solo career and his gut decision was quite right as he has managed to have a brilliant solo career.
