Friday Morning with “Hurt” of Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash

Today I woke up and turned on Johnny Cash. Who knows, maybe it is might seem weird to start a Friday morning with such songs as ‘Hurt’, who knows maybe I should have listed to something like Blink 182 or Nirvana, but I felt like Johnny flowing into my ears so why not.

The song actually made me think a lot about the life itself, especially about how full my life is and how many of my time I have already wasted for nothing. LOL, I guess I am getting old.

Actually Johnny Cash didn’t write “Hurt”, this song was written by Trent Reznor for ‘The Downward Spiral’ album of the Nine Inch Nails band. The album was released in 1994 and the song was nominated Grammy for Best Rock Song in 1996.

The song was the last release of Johnny Cash before his death. The great singer, songwriter and actor died at British Hospital in Nashville on September, 12, in 2003, in less than 4 months after his wife’s death. His death was caused by complications of diabetes, besides he suffered heavily the death of his wife, which too worsened his wealth.

John R. “Johnny” Cash, born on February, 26, in 1932, was one of the most influential musicians in the 20th century. He is best known as a country musician, but he was included into three Halls of Fame: country, rock and roll and gospel. Thanks to Johnny Cash for this special Friday morning and have a great weekend you all!
